Wellglade to take over TM Travel.

15/12/2009 It is understood that TM Travel, will become part of the Wellglade Group from 1st January 2010, ending 15 years of independant operation. The Sheffield based company operates a fleet of over 100 interesting vehicles. A mixture of commercial and tendered bus routes are operated across an area spanning South Yorkshire and Derbyshire, along with school contracts and private hire. The company employs over 200 people. It is expected to be operated as a subsidiary company, retaining the TM Travel name for the majority of its current services. The Wellglade group, which acquired Derby Community Transport in 2008, currently consists of 4 companies: trent barton, notts+derby, Kinchbus, and Midland General. Below: Although based in Sheffield, some services are operated in Derbyshire, a fair distance from the depot. Purely speculation, but perhaps services in areas such as Alfreton and Matlock will be operated using the trent barton name in the non to distant future, with the TM travel name used for South Yorkshire and High Peak services. Interesting times may be ahead. :
